About this retreat
Estelle Manor took the Jacobean-revival bones of Eynsham Hall and 85 acres of Oxfordshire parkland and rebuilt them as something closer to a private members' club than a country house hotel. It sits on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, half an hour from Oxford and a short hop from Blenheim Palace, with rooms and suites ranging from manor bedrooms to standalone woodland cabins.
The centrepiece is Eynsham Baths — a 3,000-square-metre marble tepidarium hall holding thermal baths, a breathwork pool and treatment rooms, with therapies drawing on Indian, Tibetan and Chinese traditions. It is the most ambitious spa built in the English countryside in a generation, and it sets the tone for the whole property: multiple pools, extensive gyms and studios, padel and tennis.
Four restaurants keep the estate self-sufficient — a brasserie of seasonal British classics, a wood-fired glasshouse using the kitchen gardens, an Asian menu in the Billiards Room, and a sushi-and-sake counter in the Armoury. Families are properly catered for rather than tolerated, and the grounds run to woodland trails, a farm and outdoor activity programming.
